Free Yourself From Procrastination

WalkingI have heard every excuse in the book when it comes to working out. “I’ll start on Monday” or “I’ll wait till the holidays are over” to name a few. How have we become so complacent and comfortable with procrastination? So many women are held in bondage by their words that it starts to hinder the onset of any action. Aren’t you ready to begin the journey to a new you? Come on let’s eat right, get up, and be active! I know that the idea of changing anything in life can be intimidating but relax, don’t get overwhelmed. I am here to help you so lets take this one step at a time. Today is the day to leave the excuses at the door and FREE yourself from procrastination!

First things first, recognize an excuse when you say one! Begin to differentiate what you CAN’T do from what you WON’T do. Be aware of what is holding you back from making moves towards an active lifestyle. Is it fear, laziness, lack of motivation or maybe you just don’t know how or where to begin?

Once you have identified your excuses, make a list of what you feel keeps you from your goals. Now, make another list of how you feel you can overcome those particular hurdles. Time is the greatest hurdle many can’t seem to overcome. Many of my clients declare they don’t have enough hours in the day. I challenge you to find a moment of quiet time and pay attention to your day as a whole. These moments of free time do exist. When you find consistency in your quiet time begin to add a healthy activity. Whether it is simply taking a walk around the block, take the opportunity to start mentally preparing your body for basic activity to find your comfort zone. When you find it, add to it! A walk around the block can turn into a walk around two or even three blocks then to a light jog, and eventually a run.

Starting a fitness routine isn’t about “killing” yourself the first time out. Working out can be uncomfortable at times, so ease into a routine. There is no need to rush because a steady pace wins the race! Your focus should be training yourself to be aware of your body and mind so the two begin to compliment one another. Begin to free yourself from procrastination in all aspects of your life. Remember, health and fitness is more than just reaching a one-time goal, it is a life-long, lifestyle change. Enjoy life today and let nothing hold you back.

Don’t just be fit for now, be free and FIT 4 LIFE!
