In a time when community volunteerism is gaining momentum and non profits are providing some of the most needed and desired services and products, how do you choose where and who to reach out to? Which organization is doing the work you find close to your heart? Well look no further. Welcome to Beauty Come Forth’s Non Profit one stop shop!
For as long as I can remember I have always volunteered my time to help someone paint something, serve someone, create, clean or cook. As I get older I have come to realize that giving my time to others and great causes are my missions in life. Giving keeps my spirit flying high and makes me feel purposeful and worthy.
Monthly, I will showcase some of my favorite non-profits and give you the inside look at what good is being done around the world. For our launch issue, I have collected a few of my favorites. Next month look for a spotlight non-profit organization that is digging in and serving the homeless in Los Angeles downtown’s Skid Row.
In the spirit of Beauty Come Forth, helping those in need of encouragement, nourishment, humanity and connection will not only be something you do for others but something you also do for yourself!
If you have organizations that you would like to see showcased, have comments or questions, please feel free to drop me some mail. Email that is! Art4free@live.com
Enjoy!

Create Now
http://createnow.org/
Create Now Has built an extensive database of over 1,200 youth facilities throughout Southern California that enables them to match volunteers with high-risk or at-risk kids in their own neighborhood, based on the youths' ages, genders, challenges and other preferences. Through music, art, writing and performing arts, youth learn to express themselves in a positive manner versus the destructive ways that they have in the past. They train their mentors, help them to customize curriculum and give materials for their workshops.
The Harmony Project

The Harmony Project take at-risk youth whose families earn less than 185% of the federal poverty level and give them musical instruments (such as violins, cellos, flutes, clarinets, trumpets, etc.) and year-round tuition-free music lessons, and build neighborhood youth orchestras with these kids at after school hours and on Saturdays.
