What do you believe is driving the cost of health care up? Could it be just plain laziness when approximately 40% of people have claimed to try an alternative treatment? We are not educated in preventative health care or Complementary Alternative Medicine, CAM for short. CAM is the use of chiropractic services, supplements, meditation, and colon hydrotherapy. What we have had instead is traditional expensive health insurance shoved in our lives and instead of preventing sicknesses instead look forward to being sick and spend thousands if not tens of thousands of dollars to cure ourselves. We allow the little ills to grow into big illnesses. With that delay comes major costs and major misery.
By making conscious changes in our lives and with a little prompting, the key to prevention is to begin an exercise program, use more natural supplements, adopt vegetarian or pescetarian diets, and swear off fast and sugary foods. We simply cannot afford to get sick! I will be the first to shout from the mountaintops “Insurance makes you lazy!” We expect insurance to always take care of us when truly our bodies are our own responsibility.
In America we have access to arguably the greatest health care technology anywhere in the world, yet we have not been taught prevention. We have become indoctrinated into a paradigm that says, ‘Here’s the pain!!! ---Where’s the pill?’
The fact is, there is NO money to be made in preventative information. But everyone gets paid, and paid well - - from your pocket - - when we see a myriad of medications being advertised on T.V.
When it comes to preventative health care one example that millions of women can identify with is being diagnosed with the big “F”, fibroids. What we are told is, “if they (fibroids) don’t bother you, then you don’t need to bother them” …really? Let’s set the record straight. Fibroids are alien to your body and they will continue to grow until they become a critical crisis. At that point you will only have two options, a hysterectomy or a laparoscopic myomectomy. Surgery then becomes your cure-all “pill”. Both procedures remove fibroids but they can also be extremely costly.
What you should know is that depending on the size, fibroids and many other maladies can be controlled (and even shrink) with a diet of all-raw foods for a period of six months or more.
It’s safe to say that prevention has to become a major focus in our society and in your life. It’s time for you to take hold of your own health and wellness by taking the pro-active, preventative approach. You can start by remembering these simple words… “MANAGE YOUR HEALTH… NOT A DISEASE!”
